Last summer, my husband came home one day with this...
...a disassembled crate from a large shipment at work. |
My oldest son saw the possibilities and began taking measurements... "It's 3 and 1/2 measures." |
So we carried the base to the back yard and set it on cinder blocks.... |
...and everyone loved it... |
...especially Pirate the dog who claimed it as his own... |
...and we had big plans... |
...then this happened... |
...and then THIS happened... |
...so this was our fort for nearly a year... |
...and then baby girl came home from the hospital and Daddy got back to work... |
...and the boys "helped" every step of the way... |
...and I did my fair share too... |
...making sure we were EXCEEDING safety standards... |
...for several days and several nights we worked... |
...and the boys were set to explore... |
...life beyond the fence... |
...and we all went on a trip in our favorite rocket ship... |
...and watched fireworks light up the sky... |
...and rode horses through the cane fields... |
...and won battles in the War of the Water Balloons... |
...and as if the fort weren't cool enough we added death-defying feats... |
...that leave you face down in the mud... |
...but there was still more to be built... |
...so this is our fort... |
