About Me

Hi!  I'm Casey, owner and artist of Kidspired Creations!  I am a proud mommy of two boys and a baby girl and have been married to my soul mate since 2006!

The five live in a rural area of Louisiana and are  deeply immersed in the Cajun culture that runs deep in my blood.  Though we are surrounded by rich foods, music, and art from French, Spanish, African and a hodge podge of many more cultural influences, inspiration for my art comes from my KIDS!
I graduated from Louisiana State University in Performance Art and then packed my bags to move to Los Angeles where I taught Pre-K and Kindergarten for 2 years.   I received my Masters in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University when I was 7 months pregnant with my first son, and have since allowed my diplomas to collect dust while I stay at home to raise my kids.

Although I am a stay-at-home mom, I naturally enjoy being a busy bee (as if chasing the boys and spoiling a little girl don't keep me busy enough).  So somewhere between herding my kids, playdates, trips to the park and zoo, and cleaning house (which most often gets put on the back-burner), I paint.

Me through the eyes of a 3-year-old... apparently when I first wake up in the morning.
The Saints (finally) won the Superbowl.  I like.  Though my husband is not from Louisiana, he has been converted to a Saints fan.
"Bear" practicing for picture day.
"The Leyson Man"

These are my happy thoughts.  The boys, not the Saints.  Though I do like the Saints, but, well, you get it.

Our middle child, Hippo.
I am incredibly blessed.

I'm not a great musician, but my kids don't mind.

Our newest family member, Pirate.  He found us and we opened our door to him.
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
from The Little Prince

In order to truly know me, you must not only know what I love, but also what I do not love:
styrofoam.
(Spell check is requesting I capitalize the word 'styrofoam', but it is not deserving of such an honor.)
