I love hanging pictures around my house. It's my home... and I want to see my kids' pictures EVERYWHERE! (As if I don't see enough of them already.) I could never paint anything that would mean as much to me, or make me as happy, as a beautiful picture of my kids.My friend Erin, mommy of the 3 Little Ladybugs I wrote about earlier, had a fantastic idea to combine pictures, art and memories! For her daughter Raelyn's first birthday, she added a creative touch to a bland, white, 11x16 photo mat.
Erin painted the letter "R" in the bottom left corner in a soft, iridescent, pink paint. She then had everyone who attended Raelyn's first birthday party write messages of love to her beautiful baby girl. I absolutely love the simplicity of the "R" and the look of all of the messages that now frame that adorable picture of Raelyn!
For her first birthday, Erin asked me to paint Harper's mat! I was so surprised since she had done such a great job with Raelyn's, but she had this vision of a little owl for Harper. I loooooove owls so I was super excited! (One could say that it doesn't take much to excite me... and he or she would be absolutely right).
